This series is a part of an on-going project, Women of Libya, interweaving various stories expressing women’s courage, from their traditions, to the social challenges that they face. I focus on their relationship with their environments, and their bravery as they persevere, from the coastline of Libya to the deep south.

My chosen stories are selected from my exploring the roots of Amazigh women of the Nafusa mountains where I originally come from to the stories of Ubari in the south, where I capture the authenticity of belonging, and the depth of meaning of their reality juxtaposed with their challenges; the Tuareg women of southern Libya have difficulty accessing quality education because of the absence of interest from the government of the North.
